SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT TRANSPORTATION

When sending notes regarding changes in transportation, please make sure that you include the following:

• The exact days and dates that the change is for. Please don't put "the next couple days" or "tomorrow." We need to be sure of the exacts dates of the change, so please include the days and dates
  
  
• If the change is to get off at a different place on the bus, please also include the name and STREET ADDRESS where the child is supposed to get off. We often have substitute drivers who may not know where "Grandma's house", etc. is if you do not include a street address..

MORNING CAR RIDER DROP-OFF

We have a large number of car rider students this year, and we are seeing a lot of back-up in the mornings when students are being dropped off. We know that everyone is in a hurry, so we want to get students unloaded as quickly and efficiently as possible. We need your help and cooperation in making the line flow as smoothly as possible. Please note the following:

• Use only the lane closest to the building in the mornings, unless you park in the parking lot and walk your child to the doors. We do not want students trying to cross lanes of traffic that may be moving. For most of the year it is dark when students are dropped off, and we do not want to risk an accident.

• Please arrive at the school no later than 7:35. If there is a line, your child should still have plenty of time to get into the building without being tardy.

• If you are close to the front doors waiting in the line, have your child gather their things and be prepared to get out of the car as soon as you pull up to the unloading area.
  

• Please pull as far forward as possible so that we can unload 5 cars at a time. The front car should pull up to the front crosswalk.

• Have students exit on the right side of the car (on to the sidewalk) if at all possible.

• Students in 1st through 5th grades should go ahead and exit the car when you pull up to the unloading area. The staff on duty will open doors for any PreK or K student who cannot open the door themselves.

• If your child has several things to bring in, or you need to speak to someone, please park in the parking lot and walk your child across to the building
