SCHOOL CLOSING INFORMATION

During inclement, please tune to the Atlanta Television Stations or their websites for school closing information.

 

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP TIMES

Students can be dropped off after 7:10 AM.  Students may be picked up from 2:40 PM until 3:00 PM in the car rider line in front of the school.  After 3:00 PM, students should be picked up at the bus entrance.

 

TRANSPORTATION CHANGES

All transportation changes need to be received by 2:00 PM in one of the following ways:

  1. Note from home
  2. Fax note sent to 706-675-0999.
  3. Emailed note from home sent to es-busnote@heard.k12.ga.us

Transportation change notes must be received before 2:00 PM (including After School Program transportation changes).

INSTRUCTIONAL EXTENSION

Instructional Extension is a tutoring program for students who are recommended by their teachers. Instructional Extension meets after school until 4:15 PM over the course of 80 days.

 

AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM

The After-School Program meets most days Monday through Friday after school until 5:00 PM.  The Program usually begins the Tuesday after Labor Day and ends the first part of May.

STUDENT REGISTRATION/RECORDS

The following four documents are required to have student records complete:

1. Certified Copy of Birth Certificate

2. Immunization Form (Georgia Form 3231)

3. Eye, Ear, and Dental Screening (Georgia  Form 3300)

4. Social Security Card (Original Issue Card)

STUDENT WITHDRAWAL PROCESS

Contact the school office to begin the withdrawal process.  The withdrawal form will be completed by the homeroom teacher, the media specialist, and the cashier for the School Food Services Department.  All classroom textbooks and library books must be returned or paid for and all lunch charges and fund-raising money turned in before the form will be released.  Usually a form can be available after one full school day.

 

FLOWER POLICY

Students can only receive flowers on their birthday and if they are a car rider on that day.  They will receive the flowers prior to school dismissal.  For safety reasons, students will not be allowed to take flowers home on the bus.

 

FOOD FROM HOME SERVED TO STUDENTS

HEARD COUNTY POLICY STATES: Beginning December 1, 2007, no homemade snacks can be distributed to students at school. Store bought snacks in the original sealed packages will be allowed at the principal's discretion."
